Conclusion
体外实验研究表明:
在体外模拟十二指肠环境下(pH),等摩尔浓度的C6比C8脂肪酸具有更强的抗菌活性。
体内LPS攻毒实验表明:
在日粮中添加MCT 6/8可增加LPS攻毒的仔猪的血清中IgA浓度和绒毛高度与隐窝深度的比率。
Abstract
Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a major cause of piglet morbidity and mortality worldwide. Reduction of antimicrobials has driven research in feed supplements to support gastro-intestinal health forward. Glycerides of medium-chain fatty acids have antimicrobial action and support gastro-intestinal health. An ex vivo comparison of C6 (caproic acid), C8 (caprillyc acid) and C10 (capric acid) activity against E. coli however has not been done. Most potent fatty acids ex vivo can be combined in a medium-chain glyceride feed additive, to support gastro-intestinal health and reduce possible harm by bacteria in piglets. Therefore, we investigated the in vivo strength of a specific medium chain glyceride concept comprising mainly C6 (MCT 6/8), on piglet intestinal health by means of an LPS-challenge trial.
Conclusion
Ex vivo analysis:
Stronger in vitro action of C6 than C10 against E. coli at equimolar concentration in duodenal conditions (pH=5)
LPS-challenge trial:
MCT 6/8 in feed increased serum Ig A as well as jejunal villi height/crypt depth ratio in LPS-challenged piglets
